This ship was built in Grännes in 1948 to transport timber in the Baltic Sea region by the beginning of the 1960s, the ship was carrying mainly sand between Porvoo and Helsinki and in 1972 Juhani Salovaara bought Svanhild, directly from freight traffic. Today, this ship is a top sailing schooner, perfectly renovated with traditional methods and materials, the only sailing raw sailing ship in Finland and a very handsome sight wherever one moves. The ship is equipped with modern amenities and safety equipment and is a great environment for both business events and sailing for several days. Svanhild is equipped with seven comfortable cabins for 2-3 people, with a total of 20 people. The recommended maximum number of guests for day sailings is up to 60 people.
